1. Karl Rove's Non-Denials About the
Siegelman Case Segue Into Lies in the
Wall
Street Journal
By David Fiderer for Huffington Post

Karl Rove can't help himself. The more he talks the more he suggests
that he's guilty as sin. His
throw-crap-against-the-wall-and-hope-it-sticks piece in The Wall
Street Journal constitutes his latest non-denial about corrupt dealings
with the Justice Department.

Rove gives himself away in his nonsensical lies regarding the inquiry
into the prosecution of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman.

2. OUR VIEW: Former Alabama Gov. Don
Siegelman, who succeeded in getting Karl
Rove to raise his right hand, should answer
some questions, too
by the Editorial Board of the Birmingham News

....Our only question has been why Siegelman doesn't raise his right
hand, too.

We're not talking about requiring him to testify about the criminal
charges against him; that would be unconstitutional, and wrong. We're
talking about him giving sworn testimony about the political conspiracy
he alleges is behind his conviction.

Remember, when Siegelman was in prison, Congress was pushing to
arrange an appearance by the former governor, and he was
champing at the bit to go. But then, he won a provisional release, his
way to testifying was cleared, and suddenly, it didn't seem like such a
good idea after all. Why not?

The goal of the congressional inquiry should be to find out whether
politics played an improper role in Siegelman's prosecution. Rove has
done his part to provide answers. Siegelman should be next.
